Student Wellbeing

The Student Wellbeing programs and policies at South Coogee Public School sit under the umbrella of Kids Matter. Kids Matter is a whole school approach to improving children’s mental health and wellbeing. Underpinning this is the idea that ‘Every face has a place at SCPS’.

The school’s wellbeing policies and procedures for managing student behaviour are based on the school’s value of Respect, Participation and Safety, positive reinforcement and restorative practices.

Students participate in social-emotional educational programs through teacher led ‘Circle Time’ lessons and student led ‘Bounce Back’ groups. Programs content is related to the school values, anti-bullying, wellbeing and resilience. The programs are catered to the needs of our students and apply the principles of the ‘Bounce Back!’ programs.
