Principal's Message

Welcome to Week Eleven at South Coogee Public School
I would like to congratulate all our learners for showing resilience; it certainly has been extremely damp during the last few weeks which has interrupted some of our regular programs. We are surely hopeful that the heavy rains have subsided, not only for us but also for those communities in flood prone areas, ready for the school holidays.
I am so very proud to announce that we are supporting and fundraising for Ballina Public School. We are one of a few schools raising funds and providing donations to the school due to the complete devastation from the flooding. It is sad to see that over the past two weeks continued rain on the North Coast has hampered flood recovery for the community. The reality is it will take months to clean up and even longer to restore and rebuild.
However due to your connection of care, kindness and empathy I would like to say a huge thank you for your support with our recent fundraising $5 for the Floods. We raised over $2500 with an additional donation from our South Coogee OOSH of a total $1000 matched dollar for dollar by the SCLC committee. The generosity of our school community is wonderful. Thank you again. I would imagine with P & C and your support, that we will continue to support Ballina PS for the year forward. Right now, our flood affected teachers and leaders are assessing the damage and destruction and will call upon us as they rebuild, purchase educational resources, reconstruct school grounds whilst managing staff, students and nurturing the community with positivity. If you feel continued generosity throughout the year we will keep the P & C link available for you. https://scps-uniformshop.square.site/product/mufti-day-flood-relief-donations-2022/102
